I have several PLN established. Some social networks that I already belong to include Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. I followed 21 Things @21things4. I am also following educational leaders like George Couros.
Educational Organization PLN Assignment:
The SIG that I joined is the SIGOL. The Special Interest Group for Online Learning (SIGOL) provides a forum for online learning, blended learning, mobile learning devices, web 2.0 tools, course management systems and other instructional tools and strategies for teaching and learning online. The SIGOL community includes members with various levels of expertise on these topics.
The article that I read was, "Effective Instruction; Making a Difference" from the MACUL Journal: A Publication of the Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning SUMMER 2014 VOLUME 34, ISSUE 4. The article provided 8 ideas to explore for the classroom. I really felt that many of the ideas provided in this article are similiar to the "things" that I am gainging knowledge of through 21things. I did find gamifying your classroom to be very interesting. It could certainly be impactful in a Health setting. Gamification analyzes the skills that students develop while playing video games. I would love to develop students' skills through building and creating thier own "Health" games for review and have classmates take their gaming tests. It would be great for collaboration, hands on learning, technology based, and reveiw.

The name of the video is, QR Codes and it discussed what QR Codes are and how they can be used in the classroom. Some ideas on how I could use QR Codes in my professional life include:
- Video projects on various health topics
- Creating pamphlets for various classroom projects where students can add additional links or websites to a QR Code for more information or resources regarding the topic.
- I can add QR Codes on homework assigments for support. When students go home to complete the assignment and forget how to a mindmap the food groups from MyPlate they can read text or information or watch a tutorial from the QR Code that's on the assignment.
